As
I visited a small African-American Pentecostal church in Wauchula, Florida,
the guest speaker called me to come down to the front of the sanctuary
so he could pray over me. I was a little skeptical of the man wearing
a long white robe until he said, "Lady, you should have lost your
mind a long time ago. The devil thought he had destroyed you, but God
had His hand on your life. He is the one who kept you and He is going
to use your life to reach others."
You
may not believe in modern day prophets but his words were as accurate
as the evening news. For a moment it seemed that God had allowed a perfect
stranger to step into my past and see with his own eyes the things I
had lived through. Suddenly, I realized the difficulties, trials and
hardships were the tools by which Satan had hoped to destroy me. But
God had delivered me through every situation. If I would become willing
to completely surrender my life to the Lord Jesus Christ, He would put
the broken pieces back together and use my testimony to help others.
God prepared me through brokenness.
In
my auto-biography , I openly share my story in hopes of reaching women
who are struggling.
But
for those of you who have not yet read my story, I want you to know
that I am living proof, that no matter how far you have strayed, no
matter how great the sin and failure, you have a God who can heal, forgive
and restore you. His arms are open wide because he loves you with an
everlasting love.
With
this message we boldly go into prisons, churches, drug rehabilitation
centers, youth detention homes, ladies meetings, men's meetings and
share what the Lord has done in our lives. Without fail, people come
to Jesus.
He
will take the broken pieces of your life and give you a life worth living.
Oh! Taste and see that the Lord is good!
