First Came Grace

Early in our childhood, usually in kindergarten, each of us learned the basics of communicating with the written word by sketching out letters to make words. As time went on words became sentences, sentences made paragraphs, and paragraphs turned into books. The more we progressed in this process, the better we manage the tasks in our everyday life.
Early in our Christian walk, we learned about the grace of God. Ephesians 2:5 tells us "when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with with Christ (by grace you have been saved)." But for some reason many people stop right there. They never get out of Children's Church. They never make it over to Paul's question in Roman 6:1 of "are we to continue in sin that grace might increase?" or his answer in the next verse "Certainly not!"
